Ideal Solution

An ideal solution that we have is to get on the same level with all of our detractors and also overcome our problems. Success in this project means that we got the vending machines in the school and everyone in the school is happy. The changes that have to be made is the vending machines have to be in the school and working and ethe teachers and principle need to be on the same page as us and also the school will become a more healthy enviorment. These are the things that can take us to where we need to be. To be the best dosent mean success to us it is to make other people happy is succes.

Problems/ Resolutions

Some things that might get in the way of our success.

Problems

Cost of Machines- The cost could get in the way of our cause because Vending machines are very expensive and our school might need to use the money that we still have on other things

Teachers that disagree- Teachers might start a strike because the school has used the money that they still had to pay for these vending machines. But really the teachers will not be harmed by the buying of the vending machines.

The principle- He might not like the idea of the vending machine machine getting put in the school.

School comittee- They might disagree with our idea and deny it.

Resolutions
- We can try and lower the prices of the machines and maybe even get a donation.

- We can talk to the teachers and try to explain to them that there paycheck wont be affected by the vending machines.

- We can persuasive the priciple into likeing our idea and to agreewith us.

To whom it may concern,
My name is Ulises Zamora I am a student at Watertown Middle School. I am currently working on a project for my humanities class. I am writing to you because I have a very big goal to get vending machines in our school. I am doing this because the students of the Watertown middle school have lunch at a very early time and they have to wait until they get home to eat again. The biggest concern that I have is that students here could get gastritis (An inflammation of the lining of the stomach and can be fatal) from waiting so long to eat.

Global vending group you can help our school be a more nutritious and healthy society. You can help us in a very considerate manner by donating a few vending machines or maybe giving us a good deal for a few. You can help the students at this school be healthier.

Thank you for your consideration and time; it would be a pleasure if you could help us. We hope that this has hit you in a good manner and have a nice day.

Sincerely,

To whom it may concern,

My name is Dean D’Agostino I go to Watertown Middle School. I am working on a really important project for my humanities class. I am writing this letter to you because I want to get vending machines in my school. I want to get the machines in the school because the school gives us lunch at a very early time and it feels like were eating breakfast and then we have to wait until we get home to eat again. I am scared that the students could get into bad habits of eating and form a bad eating disorder.

Vending world you can help us by donating some vending machines or giving us a good deal on some. Lets say a student gets hungry and we had lunch already, then we have to wait 4 hours until we get to see food again. And that will be a distraction during class if we have vending machines then we would be able to grab a snack and go on with our day.
It would be great if you could give us deals or help us out in any way shape or form.
I would like to get a letter back with your response. Thank you for taking your time to read this letter your time is much appreciated.

Sincerely

Detractors

Some of the people that might disagree with our cause.

School Committee- they might not like our idea because the school is in a low budget crisis and they might need to use the money for other things

Teachers- some teachers might disagree with our cause because they might think that they will be getting paid less from the expenses that the school will have from buying these vending machines

Some parents- These parents might think that in the vending machines there might junk food instead of healthy food.

Call for Action -Petition

Help Get Vending machines in school
Students at Watertown Middle School the cause that we are addressing here is the nutrition and health of the students. We are trying to get vending machines in the school because students in eighth grade and seventh get lunch at a very early time and then they have to wait five hours to see food again and for the sixth graders they get lunch too late  and they can get sick from waiting so long to eat. We know that the school is in a budget crisis but by signing this petition you agree to cut down on using so much electricity and turning of the lights from time to time.

Persuasive paragraph- Ulises Zamora

The Watertown Middle School is a very unhealthy and non-nutrition school that could get students on a bad eating habit. To start off, everyday eighth grade students go down to have lunch at a very early time so it makes them feel like they are having breakfast and then the sixth grade goes down and have lunch at a very late time and they can get sick from waiting to long to eat. This shows breakfast or in fact any meal is not supposed to be greasy pizza and tacos and salt filled foods this can bring high cholesterol and major heart problems. That's why bringing in healthy vending machines is a very good idea. Healthy vending machines is a very impressive idea because not only will the students of Watertown Middle School get the food at any time of the day but they will have many options that are healthy and can help them grow. the evidence given shows that not only will the students have the choice of what to eat but what they eat can help them grow. Lastly, teenagers are at a point in their life's of rapid growth and the food that the vending machines will provide them with can help them with this growth. This is explaining that teenagers are growing up at this point in their lives and that the healthy vending machines can help them get the nutrition they need. The Watertown Middle School is a very unhealthy school but with the hep and support of the healthy vending machines we can make this school a better place.

Statistics and data

1."It is important for teenagers to eat well because of:
-Growth
-Good health
-Development

Source- Information for professionals at WWW.Goforyourlife.com

2.Nutrition is important in the teenage years because this is a time period of rapid growth.

This is growth spurt time: kids gain about 20% of adult height and 50% of adult weight during adolescence. Because growth and change is so rapid during this period, the requirements for all nutrients increase. This is especially true of calcium and iron.

3.Adolescents and teens are at a high risk of developing anorexia, bulimia, or binge eating disorder.

4.putting vending machines in the schools that serve healthy beverages and food is a good idea. Not only will it make healthy beverages and snacks available to students, but they should take the place of the ones that serve those beverages and foods that are bad for students, which should help with overall student health issues.
